The POS machine is a terminal reader equipped with bar code or OCR code technology, which is composed of a host part, a password keyboard, a power adapter and a printing part. According to data released by Nielsen, global POS shipments reached 103.6 million units in 2018, a 39% increase from 2017, and this figure increased by 29.1 million units year-on-year.
It is worth noting that, with the cash flow crisis under the epidemic, some criminals used POS machines to "cash out", and POS machines became a "new demand" under the epidemic. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, most of the offline consumer scenes were forced to suspend business, coupled with the increased penetration of QR code mobile payments, the demand for POS machines in offline physical stores continued to decline. Taken together, the China Merchants Industrial Research Institute predicts that the POS market will decline in 2020.
Among them, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Europe are the three main regions with the highest POS shipments.
